Why the table does not end in one number

Two of those lines are averages over a crowd and three are single opinions, and one of the three single opinions was written about a build that no longer exists. Averaging them would produce a figure that describes nothing. The Steam percentages move with every patch; the GameLuster score was awarded to a version with five factions, no custom faction creator and no multiplayer.

What PC Gamer said

Media

PC Gamer's verdict, in its own words, is that ENDLESS Legend 2 "is a magnificent example of why Amplitude is so loved by 4X fans." Its accompanying fact box lists the release date as September 17, 2026 for the 1.0 version, an expected price of $50/£45, Amplitude Studios as developer, Hooded Horse as publisher, Steam Deck as Verified, and a review machine of a Radeon RX 6800 XT with a Ryzen 9 5900 and 32GB of RAM. Its critique is aesthetic rather than structural: the lighting is flat and only really changes during monsoons, and the map uses symbols for cities and armies where text labels would carry more information.

What GameLuster said, and why it is labelled

Media, Early Access build, superseded

GameLuster scored it 8/10 and recommended it, calling it "a feast for the eyes, with some thick gristle on the bones," and praised the tide system, the faction design and the visuals. Read it with its date attached: the review says outright that it was played on the Early Access build, and its text confirms this by noting that only five factions were available, that a sixth was promised, and that the custom faction creator was not yet usable. Its gameplay criticism is still worth knowing because it concerns systems rather than numbers — the reviewer found that auto-resolving a fight would have won the battle at the cost of the hero unit, and that fighting it manually won without losing anything. That observation is used on /auto-battle/.

The aggregate gap

Unconfirmed

As of 2026-09-18 this site found no Metacritic or OpenCritic page carrying an aggregate score for ENDLESS Legend 2. That is a statement about what we could find on that date, not a claim that no aggregate will ever exist. If an aggregate appears, the number that matters alongside it is the sample size, because a score built from a handful of reviews is a different kind of claim from Steam's 1,576.

So should you buy it?

This site does not answer that with a number, because the answer depends on which of three readers you are.

  • You played Early Access and drifted away. The 1.0 review picture is stronger than the Early Access picture, and the recent-review figure is higher than the lifetime figure. The change list on /1-0/ tells you whether the specific things that annoyed you were addressed.
  • You have never played it. There is a demo on Steam, and it costs nothing to find out whether the Tidefall loop holds you. See /demo/ — but note what the demo does and does not include.
  • You want it on a console or on a handheld. Check /ps5/, /xbox/ and /steam-deck/ before reading scores, because the reviews above were written on PC.
